Like other personnel hoping to qualify for space travel, astronauts need to have normal color vision (no colorblindness), hearing and equilibrium. Astronauts must also be healthy from physical and psychological standpoints and not have any kind of addiction (drugs, tobacco, alcohol). a five-year degree, is certainly useful for working as an astronaut, but it is not enough.
